Programme requirements (ECTS credits)
In accordance with the Standard on higher education set for the programme Management of Educational Institution (Master’s Degree), 90 ECTS credits are awarded in total. The curriculum of the programme Management of Educational Institution (Master’s Degree) incorporates: mandatory courses (43.5 ECTS credits, including Course paper – 1 ECTS credit), elective courses (22.5 ECTS credits). Internship – 9 ECTS credits. Master’s thesis – 15 ECTS credits.

General goal of the study programme “Management of Educational Institution” (Master’s Degree) is training of a new generation of highly qualified competitive headers of educational institutions with a strategic way of thinking, a systematic vision of management problems, professional knowledge in the field of management of educational institutions of various types, capable of predicting the development of an educational institution, identifying and solving complex management tasks and practical problems, using innovative management instruments and methods.
The programme’s educational goals are designed to:
- provide training of Masters in Management of Educational Institutions in accordance with the needs of the labour market regarding forming competencies and improvement of quality with the help of educational innovations;
- train highly qualified professionals who are competent in legal and managerial issues of educational activity and who are able to perform the tasks of organization and management of the educational process at higher educational institutions in new conditions at the professional level;
- train highly qualified professionals who are able to find by themselves relevant solutions to the most important strategic objectives of educational organizations, to develop plans for their development, to monitor their effectiveness;
- acquaint students with effective technologies of management of educational institutions, forming the organizational structure of an educational institution, to control the execution of measures for planning organization of educational process;
- train highly qualified specialists for educational institutions and establishments, who are able to form the personnel policy of an educational institution, the contingent of persons who study in this educational institution, to organize staff development of an educational institution, to provide an educational institution with information and communication relations, to monitor the implementation of the chosen strategy;
- develop in students the abilities to carry out supervisory control of an educational institution and its structural subdivisions, to form the organizational culture, to create the appropriate moral and psychological climate among the staff of an educational institution when carrying out collective work.
